Frog Gym (automata)

Look! This frog is treating the crocodile’s mouth like a free gym to cut costs.

It seems the frog is taking advantage of the crocodile—but once it gets tired, it might just become the crocodile’s free meal. Talk about a bargain!

瞧！這隻青蛙為了省錢，把鱷魚的嘴巴當成了免費健身房。

看起來青蛙似乎在佔鱷魚的便宜——但一旦它累了，可能就會成為鱷魚的美餐。真是太划算了！

Design Concept

The design came from a DIY mechanical model I created for a science magazine several years ago. In the original version, the frog stood in the mouth of a hippopotamus, creating a whimsical and playful scene.

In this new version, I chose to replace the hippopotamus with a crocodile, which not only adds more tension and excitement to the story but also makes the overall design more dramatic. The crocodile’s elongated snout is better suited to complement the frog’s movements and postures, and the visual proportions are more balanced. To make the main character more prominent and the action more dynamic, I chose to use a crocodile as the frog’s “stage partner" for this fitness show, making it even more fun!

這個設計源自於幾年前我為科學雜誌製作的一個DIY機械模型。在原版中，青蛙站在河馬的嘴裡，營造出一種奇趣活潑的氛圍。

在這個新版本中，我選擇用鱷魚取代河馬，這不僅為故事增添了更多緊張刺激的元素，也讓整體設計更具戲劇性。鱷魚細長的吻部更能襯托青蛙的動作和姿態，視覺比例也更平衡。為了讓主角更加突出，動作更加生動，我選擇讓鱷魚作為青蛙的“搭檔”，共同上演這場健身秀，讓整個過程更加精彩！
